Albaugh, Florence Irene Wright

Florence Irene Wright Albaugh Resident of Crockett Florence Irene Wright Albaugh, a 40-year resident of Crockett, was born May 10, 1908 in McKean, PA, the 8th child of Curtin and Nettie Wright. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bernard Albaugh. She is survived by 3 children, Gene Albaugh and his wife Dee, Marge Mahnke and her husband Carl, and June Valentini and her husband John, as well as 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. A native of Pennsylvania, she graduated from Edinboro High School in 1926, the only child of 11 to attend from her family. After WWII, in 1946, she moved to Richmond, CA, where she resided until 1964, when she moved to Crockett. Her passions included her family, grandchildren, gardening, baking, painting and traveling. She was an active member of the Herb Society, Pinole Seniors and St. Rose Catholic Church. She laughed freely, judged fairly, and lived with happiness and compassion. Bernard and Florence enjoyed a full and active life sharing many happy days for 57 years until he called for her one last time on her 100th birthday after her party. Florence Albaugh was a devoted wife and mother and served as a role model for all those fortunate to have known her. She will be missed very much. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 10 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, 555 3rd Ave., Crockett, CA 94525. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Hosselkus Chapel. Memorial gifts to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church Priest Education Fund would be appreciated by the family.
