Katherine Clara Chamberlain Died April 28, 2008 peacefully, she had just celebrated her 94th birthday. Katherine has been an Alameda resident for over 60 years. She is survived by her daughters: Kate Chamberlain, Teresa Troelsen-Spradlin, and Sophia Serda; sons: Bob Chamberlain and Paul Chamberlain. Katherine leaves 6 grand children and 4 great grand children. She was devoted to her brothers: Marvin and Harold; sisters Margaret and Alice. Katherine also left her pet Sage who seldom left her side in her last month. Katherine was an avid competitor at the Alameda County Fair entering award winning roses, boysenberry, and red raspberry jams. In her later years she enjoyed playing cards, watching the Oakland A's and reading Marmaduke. Katherine was very proud to have served in the Navy as a wave, where she met her husband William Chamberlain. Katherine was preceded in death by her parents: Sophia and Joe Miller; her husband, William; sons: Bill and John Glen; brothers: Glenn, Jules, William, Bud, Vernon, Floyd, and Clarence; sisters: Marie and Lillian. Viewing will be held at Greer Family Mortuary, 2694 Blanding Ave., Alameda on Thursday May 15, 2008 from 5:30 to 8:45 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. The Funeral Services will be held at St. Phillip Neri 3108 Van Buren Street, Alameda on Friday May 16, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. Burial Honors will be held following the Funeral Services at Golden Gate National Cemetery Chapel, 1300 Sneath Lane, San Bruno from 1:00P.M. to 1:30 P.M.
